Service Fee Overview

Our surgical companionship services are billed at a flat 10% fee based on the total cost of the travel arrangements we coordinate on your behalf. This includes:

• Flights — commercial airfare required for your procedure
• Lodging — hotels, extended‑stay accommodations, or recovery‑friendly stays
• Ground Transportation — rental cars or other pre‑arranged transportation

The 10% fee covers the full coordination process: researching options, securing reservations, managing schedule changes, and ensuring all travel aligns with your surgical timeline.

What the Fee Includes

• Personalized planning tailored to your medical schedule and mobility needs
• Direct communication with your companion coordinator
• Reservation management, including adjustments if your procedure time changes
• Logistical oversight from departure to return

There are no hidden charges, subscription costs, or surprise add‑ons. You pay only the 10% service fee plus the actual cost of your travel bookings.

Daily Service Rate

Surgical companionship services are billed at a flat rate of $200 per day. This daily rate covers all time spent providing direct support, including:

• Travel with the client from home to airport, airport to hospital, and back again
• Driving the client in a rental car to and from the airport, hospital, lodging, and follow‑up appointments
• Hospital companionship during surgery check‑in, procedure time, and required post‑operative presence
• Recovery support during the immediate post‑surgery period
• Coordination and communication with medical staff as needed

The daily rate applies from the moment travel begins until the client is safely returned home.

What the Daily Rate Includes

• Full‑day availability for all required transportation, waiting periods, and medical‑facility presence
• Companion presence when hospitals require a responsible adult for surgery discharge
• Support with mobility, check‑ins, and transitions between locations
• Flexible scheduling to accommodate delays, extended recovery time, or surgeon‑requested changes

There are no hourly charges, overtime fees, or hidden add‑ons.

Additional Client Costs

Clients are responsible for the actual expenses associated with Cynthia’s trip, including:

• Airfare
• Lodging
• Rental car and fuel
• Meals during travel days = $50 per day

These costs are billed directly to the client and prepaid by the client. Unknown factors can extend or shorten a trip. A best guess on the number of days needed for the surgery and those prepaid funds will be held in the My Zebra Companion business checking account until the client is home. At that time monies would either be refunded or further billed to the client based on the actual days comprising the trip.

Prepaid Funds & Trip Length Adjustments

Because every surgical journey is unique, the exact number of days required for travel, surgery, and recovery can vary. To ensure smooth planning and uninterrupted support, clients prepay for the estimated number of days needed for their trip.

All prepaid funds are securely held in the My Zebra Companion business checking account for the duration of the service period. These funds are not accessed until the client has safely returned home.

Once the trip is complete, the final cost is calculated based on the actual number of days the companion services were required:

• If the trip is shorter than expected, the remaining balance is promptly refunded to the client.
• If the trip requires additional days, an invoice is issued for the difference at the standard $200 per day rate.

This approach ensures fairness, transparency, and flexibility when unexpected changes arise — whether due to surgeon requests, recovery needs, or travel delays.
